Sideband does not collect personal information. There are no accounts or personal profiles. Your library and listening activity stay on your devices. We use anonymous telemetry only to improve the service and prevent abuse.

No accounts or profiles
You do not need an account or provide personal information to use Sideband. We do not create personal profiles or use advertising trackers.
Your library stays on-device
Your library, queue, listening history, playback progress and imported audio stay on your devices. Sideband has no cloud sync. Your iPhone and paired Apple Watch can exchange playback state and downloaded episodes directly.
Anonymous telemetry
Why we use it
Anonymous telemetry helps us improve the service and prevent abuse. Those are its only purposes.
No advertising or profiling
We do not use telemetry for advertising or build profiles of you.
Consent and permissions
Using Sideband does not enroll you in personal information collection. Device permissions support the features you choose to use, and you can review or change them in your device settings.
Sharing and selling information
We have no personal information collected through the app to sell or share. We do not provide personal profiles or listening histories to advertisers.
Communications
Sideband does not require an email address or enroll you in marketing. There is no marketing subscription to cancel simply because you use the app.
Storage and retention
Your on-device library
We do not hold a server-side copy of your personal library. Local shows, episodes and downloads remain on your devices until you remove them or the app's storage settings remove them. Device backups and copies transferred to your Apple Watch are managed separately.
Anonymous telemetry
Anonymous telemetry is separate from your personal library and used only for service improvement and abuse prevention. It is not a cloud backup of your listening data.
Security
Keeping your library on your devices means Sideband has no centralized personal library or account credentials to hold. We limit anonymous telemetry to the purposes described here.
Your control and privacy rights
Managing your local data
You can remove shows, episodes and downloads in Sideband. Removing the app removes its local app data, subject to Apple's backup and restore settings. Manage Apple Watch copies and device backups separately.
No account or profile to request
There is no Sideband account to close or personal profile to retrieve, correct or delete. Your local library is managed on your devices. This does not limit your privacy rights.
International storage and transfers
There is no Sideband cloud copy of your personal library to store or transfer internationally. Your personal library stays on your devices.
Other websites and services
Links you choose to open may take you to other websites or services. Their own privacy practices apply.
Children's privacy
The same approach applies to everyone, including children: no personal information collection, no accounts and no personal profiles.

If Sideband's privacy practices change, we will update this page and its last-updated date.
