Daniel Amar Siad was a modeling scout whose contacts with Jeffrey Epstein became part of a French trafficking inquiry in 2026. He described their relationship as professional and denied wrongdoing. He had not been arrested when he died near Paris in July 2026. The investigation continued after his death.123
French inquiry and death
In February 2026 the Paris prosecutor opened a framework investigation covering organized human trafficking and criminal association, after the U.S. document release and a new reading of the Brunel case file. Siad was named as someone who could be questioned. He had not been arrested when he died.1
His body was found on July 20, 2026, in a house in Colombes, northwest of Paris. He was 69. The Nanterre prosecutor opened a cause-of-death inquiry. An autopsy on July 23 found no sign of recent violence and traces of prior heart disease. Toxicology was still pending. His lawyer said he died of a heart attack and that "he is dead and he was innocent."23
Scope of the continuing investigation
On July 22, 2026, Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau said the trafficking investigation would continue despite Siad's death and the end of public action against him. Investigators had renewed exploitation of Brunel-case evidence, requested U.S. mutual assistance, and met Polish counterparts at Eurojust. At that stage, 24 women had come forward or been identified as victims or witnesses of facts "likely committed by Daniel Siad or others implicated." Sixteen of those women had been interviewed. Hearings had begun on March 19.1

On August 31, 2026, Rep. Thomas Massie named Siad on the House floor among people who should be investigated and prosecuted. Siad was already dead. The French investigation remained unresolved at his death.4
